The Stetson women's lightweight four who won bronze medals at the nationals last May are seated 4th this weekend at perhaps the most prestigious fall race in the world, the Head of the Charles Regatta. there will be thousands of competitors and national team athletes from all over the world.  The course is right through Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The crew was 14th last year but due to their national ranking over the year, they are in a much more advantageous start position.  they will race Sunday afternoon at 4:11 on Sunday afternoon against Harvard, Philadelphia Undine, Bucknell, Princeton, Radcliffe, Clemsen, Pitt, Chicago, Vesper Boat Club.  It is a difficult race where you can't just be fast but must be smart.

Racing these high level races at this caliber adds poise and skill to our crews which will aid them in the spring championship races.

Rubbing shoulders with the likes of the Ivy League give a real boost to Stetson recruitment and enrollment management.  EVERYONE wants to row the Charles and when we can tell them that we race the Charles...we have a leg up on the other Southern schools who don't.  It is a terrifically prestigious event that puts Stetson on a world stage.
