John Boyle
Position: Head Coach

Entering his 17th season as Stetson's cross country head coach is veteran runner and race promoter John Boyle.

Boyle has overseen all operations of the men's and women's cross country programs since being appointed head coach on August 12, 1993.

A devoted runner, the 66-year old Boyle is one of Florida's top runners in the 65-and-over age group. He is president of Alta Vista Sports and previously served as head cross country coach at DeLand High, earning Five Star Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors in 1986.

Over the years Boyle has served the running sports as the National Chairperson for Masters Long Distance Running for USA Track and Field (USATF) as well as on that organization's Board of Directors. He has also been the Florida State Represenative for the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and as National Duathlon Chair for USA Triathlon (USAT) Boyle is a successful competitive runner, having several Florida Masters Championships,and a National Masters 10K Championship and has participated in numerous Boston Marathons. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y.,

Boyle earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1964. He has three grown children: Lisa, Jay and Scott.
