Owen, a Marketing major with a 3.49 GPA, was selected to the academic all-conference team for the third year in a row. As a pitcher, she owns a 22-7 record with a 0.90 ERA and 159 strikeouts in 179.2 innings. She leads the league in wins, ERA, innings pitched, and complete games (21), and was named the A-Sun Pitcher of the Week on three separate occasions.
At the plate, Owen is batting .333 with 13 home runs and 41 RBI. She is just the third player in school history to hit over 30 career home runs (31), and she is just one of four players in the NCAA with over 20 wins and 10 home runs this season. On April 22, she earned National Player of the Week honors from USA Softball.
Morello, an Elementary Education major with a 3.74 GPA, was selected to the academic all-conference team for the second straight year. She is batting .319 with two home runs and 20 RBI this season. Morello has started all 46 games in center field and has registered 51 hits, 39 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
For her career, Morello has collected 197 hits and owns a .310 batting average. She ranks among the school all-time leaders in hits, runs scored, stolen bases, and total bases. Morello also earned Capital One Academic All-District honors last week and will move on to the Academic All-America ballot.
Full all-conference honors will be announced on Tuesday.
The Hatters (34-12) are seeded third for the Atlantic Sun tournament and will face sixth-seeded Florida Gulf Coast at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn.
