The Stetson softball team will play its final home games of the 2014 season this weekend as the Hatters host the Jacksonville Dolphins for a three-games at Patricia Wilson Field.

Stetson (32-9, 15-5 Atlantic Sun) enters this weekend's series needing three wins to secure at least the No. 2 seed and first-round bye for the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament, May 7-10 in Nashville, Tenn.  The Hatters could snare the No. 1 seed if they win all six remaining games and ETSU sweeps USC Upstate in their final series (May 3-4).

Saturday will also be Senior Day as the Hatters will honor Chrissy Morello, Meredith Owen, and Sarah Read prior to first game of the doubleheader, which is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Morello has started all four seasons for the Hatters and ranks among the school career leaders in hits (190), runs (117), total bases (229) and stolen bases (78).  She is a two-time all-conference selection and three-time NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

Owen has developed into one of the top two-way players in the nation during her four-year Stetson career.  Just one of two players in conference history to hit over 25 home runs (30) and win over 50 games (64), she currently maintains an NCAA-best 0.70 ERA.

Read ranks among the conference leaders with 10 victories this season in the circle.  She won her first six decisions of the season, and has struck out 45 batters in 80.2 innings pitched.

The seniors have helped Stetson improve its win total each season over the past four years.  This year's team is receiving votes in the top 25 poll for the first time in 10 years, and the Hatters are two wins shy of setting a school-record for conference victories in a single-season.

Stetson leads the all-time series 20-6 vs. the Dolphins (16-28, 6-15), including a 3-0 mark last year in Jacksonville.  Sunday's series finale will start at 1 p.m.

Tickets for this weekend's games start at just $5 and can be purchased online or at the Patricia Wilson Field box office. Stetson students, faculty, and staff are free with a valid ID.

Subscription based live video will be available on HatterVision. Live stats, the Stetson softball twitter feed, and the Hat-Alerts text messaging system will provide in-game updates as well.
