Following the Men's Lacrosse game against FAU, the Women's Lacrosse club also hosted the Owls of FAU on Saturday, March 17th on Rinker Field. This was the second meeting for the Hatters and the Owls. FAU came out strong scoring their first goal just 45 seconds into the game. They also scored their next three goals before the Hatters were on the board. Simone Magee put Stetson on the board after nine and a half minutes of play. FAU and Stetson went back and forth for the rest of the first half. Sam Hamann and Alex Prosper both had their first goals of the game in the first half. FAU was leading Stetson 8-3 at halftime, but the game was very competitive and the Lady Hatters were playing very well. FAU came out ready to play in the second half though, they scored the first four goals of the half, leading 12-3 before Alex Prosper had her second goal with 21 minutes remaining. FAU scored another four unanswered and Sam Hamann also got her second goal of the day with eight minutes left in the game. Stetson got another two quick goals, one by Ciara Hendrix and the last by Hamann, who lead the team with three goals. FAU scored the final goal of the game, winning by a score of 17-7. It was the Hatters best game to date and the team spirits were very high after giving it their all.
The Lady Hatters will travel to Tallahassee on March 31st to play their final two games of the season against FSU and Tulane University. Good luck Lady Hatters!
