Over the weekend the Stetson Tennis Club traveled to Orlando to compete in the Tournament of Champions. On the first day of the tournament the Hatters fell to University of Florida in their first match. In their second match of the day versus University of Central Florida-F the Hatters won.  In the last match of the day Stetson faced off against University of Miami-B and won. At the end of the Day 1 the Hatter had a record of 2-1, but fell short of qualifying for the Gold bracket which landed them as the number 1 seed in the Silver bracket for Day 2 of the tournament.

The first match of the Silver Bracket for the Hatters was against UF-D. With a victory by the Hatters they advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals the Hatters were paired with Miami-B, who they beat in pool play the day earlier. The Hatters won again, putting them into play for the championship of the Silver Bracket.  The finals was Stetson versus Miami-A. In the finals the Kali Ballard and Erin Davis won the Women’s Doubles match 6-2, Logan Reid and Dan Lozada won the Men’s Doubles match 6-4, Logan Reid lost the Men’s singles match 4-6, Kali Ballard won the Women’s Singles match 6-3, and Davis and Lozada lost the Mixed Doubles match 4-6, but at the end of Mixed Doubles match the Hatters were leading in points, the Hurricanes attempted to continue the match by forcing overtime, but after one match the Hatters shut them down and won the Silver Bracket.  This win caps a highly successful season for the Hatters Tennis Club, advancing deep into every tournament this year.
