Sunday, December 11th, the Stetson Surf team hit the water again for the fourth competition in the NSSA season. Stetson had six members compete but only one was able to make it to the podium. Stetson surfed against their usual competition, FIT, Daytona State, FGCU, and FAU and ended the competition with a fourth place team finish. Willie Lane the club treasurer was a big reason for the team placing as he was able to capture first place in the College Longboard division. Danny Moscato also advanced to the semi-finals for College Men’s but was not able to advance out of his next heat.
The team was supported and coached by last year’s team president, Tim Tully, who was able to give pointers and discuss strategy with the team members. The team will be taking a short holiday break with everyone else but looks to hit the water just before school comes back into session in January with a competition on Jan. 15th.
