The Stetson Swim Club participated in its first competitive event on Saturday, February 25th at the UCF Knightmare Invitational. Since the club was founded in the spring of 2010, the club has yet to dive into competition events, until now. Allen Love and Breanna Howell headed to Orlando to represent the Hatters in the invitation which included teams from UCF, Embry-Riddle, and the University of Miami. UCF had 18 swimmers at their home event, Miami brought 12, and Embry-Riddle and Stetson both had two swimmers each. Allen swam in the 200m backstroke and the 100m freestyle events, while Breanna swam in the 100m backstroke and the 100m freestyle events. Both had a great time interacting with other swimmers and really enjoyed the new pool at the UCF Recreation and Wellness Center. The club looks forward to attending more invitational and dual meets next year!
