The Stetson Men's Lacrosse club hosted the men's lacrosse club of Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, March 17th for a battle on Rinker Field. The game started out slow as there were several penalties in the first quarter, but quickly picked up the pace. FAU was leading 5-0 when Stetson scored their first goal of the game. David Bruce put the Hatters on the board with six minutes left in the first quarter. The Owls of FAU got two more goals to end the quarter leading by a score of 7-1. The second quarter was all FAU until Alex Setaro scored his first goal of the game with about three minutes remaining in the half. The Hatters trailed 11-2 at halftime. The scoring slowed down in the second half as FAU and Stetson both scored only one goal in the third quarter. Shane Pascoe put one on the board for the Hatters with just under two minutes left in the quarter. The Owls led 12-3 and scored the first four goals of the final quarter. Garrett Spellacy ended the game with a goal for the Hatters with 45 seconds remaining. The final score from Rinker Field was 16-4, Owls over the Hatters.
The Men's Lacrosse club will be in action on Sunday, March 25th as they travel up to Valdosta State University to take on VSU and Morehouse University in a mini-tournament. The Hatters' final home game will be on Sunday, April 22nd when they will host the University of North Florida.
