The Hatter Tennis club traveled this past weekend to Tallahassee, FL to play in the first USTA Tennis on Campus series event of the year, FSU Capital Challenge. Stetson fared well and held their ground and made it to the quarterfinals before getting ousted by UCF, who later went on to win the tournament. Leading the charge for Stetson was stand out freshman, Erin Davis. She dug out of a 3-5 hole to take the first set 7-5, and hitting devastating forehands and backhand winners she defeated her opponent 6-3. Erin’s victory secured Stetson a spot in the quarterfinals.

Hatter Tennis club will travel to UCF for their next tournament in mid-November. The team will focus on practicing and increasing their competitiveness by sitting out the tournaments held in October.
