As the deadline to renew season tickets for the 2014 Stetson Football season nears, Stetson Athletics is making a change to required donation for some seating areas.
Previously, tickets in the John B. and Hatter Booster sections required a donation of $5,000 (John B.) or $1,000 (Hatter Boosters) in order to purchase up to four tickets in those areas. The donation will now reflect a per ticket cost for fans who only want to purchase more or fewer tickets.
The donation to purchase seats in the John B. section will now be $1,250 per ticket. Seats in the Hatter Booster section will now require a $250 donation per ticket. This ticket price is in addition to the actual cost of the tickets. Seats in the John B. section are $215 for the season while tickets in the Hatter Boosters area are $190 per seat.
Ticket buyers who have already made the lump sum contribution while renewing their tickets for the 2014 season will be contacted by April 11 and, if eligible, will be given the option to have a portion of their gift refunded.
"We knew going in that one of the keys to success for the football program from year one to year two was going to be about improvements,” Associate Director of Athletics Jeff Higgins said. “We think this change in our pricing system represents an improvement in the level of service to our fans and supporters.
“Fan loyalty is critical to the success of any program, and we believe this change will generate the kind of fan loyalty Coach Hughes and his team are going to need to be successful in the coming years."
The deadline for renewal for all season ticket holders (including alumni, general public and faculty/staff) remains Friday, April 11. Fans who wish to purchase season tickets for the first time will be able to get their orders in starting June 2.Fans with questions about John B., Hatter Booster, or any other season ticket renewals should call 386-738-HATS between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
