The Stetson lacrosse team's home opener scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. has been postponed to Monday at 4:15 p.m. due to inclement weather in the Pacific Northwest.
The Hatters will host its second ever home opener against Oregon at the Athletic Training Center. Stetson, who began play in 2013, enter this weekend’s match-up at 0-1 after dropping their first contest to No. 3 Syracuse, Jan. 24 at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Oregon’s trip to DeLand will mark the start of its 2014 campaign as the Ducks will take on Coastal Carolina in Jacksonville following their date with Stetson. The U of O finished 2013 at 8-9 and 3-5 in conference play.
Last season head coach Nicole Moore’s squad dropped its first home game of the season to Liberty in what was the first of seven home contests for the Hatters. Like in 2013, this year’s home opener will also mark the start of a lengthy home stand, as Stetson will play five straight at the ATC and eight of the next nine including Sunday’s match-up with the Ducks.
Game time is set for 4:15 p.m. in DeLand and admission is free. For those not in attendance, the action can be seen live on HatterVision. Live stats, the @StetsonLacrosse Twitter feed, and Hat-Alerts are also available for in-game updates.
