DELAND, Fla. – For the first time this season, the Stetson University lacrosse team will travel north of the Mason-Dixon Line as it takes on Marist, Friday, Mar. 21 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The Hatters have played three straight home games, with this being their first road contest since Mar. 5, when they took on Coastal Carolina, in Conway, S.C.
Stetson is still searching for its first win of the season after coming within a point vs. Wagner (11-10), on Mar. 17. In that game, Ana Baranowski had a season high four goals, while goalie Caili Guilday made 11 saves and the Hatters had their second highest point total of the season.
Marist enters the contest with a 4-2 mark, having most recently defeated Bucknell 10-5 in Lewisburg, Pa. The Red Foxes have not played a home game in nearly a month, and are 1-1 in Poughkeepsie this season.
The matchup between the Hatters and Red Foxes also marks a special occasion as it will be the annual FOJ Game or Friends of Jaclyn Game in Poughkeepsie. Friends of Jaclyn is an organization aimed at improving the quality of life for children with brain tumors.
