MACON, Ga. – Danielle Horgan and Amanda Parker have been named to the Atlantic Sun’s All-Conference First Team, as a total of five Hatters garnered post-season honors, the conference announced Wednesday.

Joining Horgan and Parker as A-Sun honorees are Mary Kate O’Sullivan and Maylis Broderick who wound up on the All-Conference Second Team, while midfielder Lindsay Summers was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Horgan, a sophomore from Miami, Fla., is no stranger to A-Sun honors as she was named Player of the Week, (Apr. 7), for her seven goal performance vs. Kennesaw State. She was also a member of the conference’s All-Freshman Team a year ago. The second year attacker finished the regular season with a team high 31 points to go along with her 12 assists and 19 goals.

Parker is sophomore from Perkasie, Pa., and one of the premiere defenders on the team. She picked up 18 ground balls and won 23 draw controls in 14 games played.

Like Horgan, O’Sullivan was also an All-Freshman Team member in 2013 and has already been named to the A-Sun’s Academic All-Conference Team in 2014. The attacker/midfielder played in all 17 regular season contests, scoring 15 goals and dishing out five assists for her 20 points. The Naples, Fla., native picked up 19 ground balls and won 24 draw controls this past season.

Broderick picks up her second A-Sun honor of the season as she too was named Academic All-Conference. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native was an All-Freshman Team member in 2013 and followed up her solid rookie campaign with an equally strong sophomore season. The midfielder had nine goals and six assists for 15 total points.

Summers, a standout freshman, led the team in the regular season in draw controls (39) and was second in ground balls (44). She played in all 17 games, scoring 13 goals and dishing out five assists for 18 points.

This is the second straight season Stetson has seen at least five of its players earn A-Sun post season honors as all five were on the All-Freshman Team in 2013.

The Hatters earned a No. 4 seed in this year’s A-Sun Championship with a pair of conference victories. They will take on No. 1 Jacksonville in the semifinals, Friday, May 2 at 1 p.m., on the Dolphins’ home field.
