DeLand, Fla. – Stetson Athletics has announced the official release of all new logos and marks for the department. The licensing process in under way and the use of the marks will begin immediately.

“After an extensive re-branding process our committee has finalized our marks and we are ready to release them to the public”, said Stetson Athletics Director Jeff Altier. “I would like to thank everyone on the committee who worked so hard on this process. The time had come for an update and I believe they did a great job coming up with some sharp new logos to represent our department and our university.”

There have been several changes of the marks over the years. The previous logo, a block S wearing a hat first made its appearance with Stetson athletics during the 1989-90 school year. The new primary logo is not a radical change from the old. The new version is an SU in a custom designed font beneath a new and updated Stetson Hat.

The committee worked with Phoenix Design Works out of New York City to come up with the new designs. Phoenix is a highly respected company that has designed the official logos and marks for a large number colleges, universities and professional sports franchises. Their work can be seen at www.phoenixdesignworks.com.

The Hatters’ official school colors have not changed and remain Hunter Green (PMS 342) and White.

All media outlets that reproduce or display the Stetson athletics logo are asked to replace the old logo with the new version. The primary color logo and style guide are attached.

Any vendors who seek to reproduce the new trademarked logo are required to contact Stetson Associate Athletics Director for Marketing Richard Skeel for approval. He can be reached at (386) 822-8126 or by emailing rskeel@stetson.edu.

Any questions about the use of the marks, colors or the re-branding process should contact Stetson Sports Information Director Dean Watson at dwatson@stetson.edu or by calling (386) 822-8130.
