Willie Green's 79 blocked shots in just two seasons at Stetson rank him eighth all-time in program history for career blocks. Three more blocked shots will move Green into seventh place, while 21 more will make him just the sixth player in Hatter history to record 100 blocks in a career.
2012-13 (Junior) - Game-by-Game Statistics
Played in and started all 31 games in his second season with the Hatters. Led Stetson with 6.6 rebounds per game (7th in A-Sun), 54.1 field goal percentage (4th in A-Sun), and 41 blocks (3rd in A-Sun). His 41 blocks marked the eighth best total in a single season at Stetson. Added 8.3 points per game, which was fifth on the team, and 61 assists, which tied for third most amongst the Hatters. Tied a career high with 17 points at North Florida (2/2). Scored in double figures 11 times, and grabbed double digit rebounds six times. Finished the year with three double-doubles, including a 13-point, career-best 13-rebound performance against ETSU in an A-Sun Quarterfinal victory (3/7). Tallied three or more blocks five times, which included a four-block outing at Jacksonville (1/31).
2011-2012 (Sophomore) - Game-by-Game Statistics
Appeared in all 29 games and averaged 7.3 points per game. Led the team in blocked shots with 39, which was tied for the eight best total in a single season at Stetson at the time. Had a double-double against North Florida (1/09). Was in double figures in scoring nine times. Fifth overall in the A-Sun in blocked shots per game (1.3) and fourth in league play (1.2). Finished ninth in league play in free throw percentage of 72.2 percent.
Played in 32 games at Daytona State College, averaging 5.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. Connected on 72-of-142 attempts from the field and 26-of-38 from the free throw line. Grabbed 92 rebounds, averaging 2.9 per game. Recorded 43 blocked shots, averaging 1.3 per game.
Sat out as a redshirt at Western Kentucky University.
A four-year starter for coach Mark Griseck at Olympia High School in Orlando. As a senior, averaged 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game. Finished his scholastic career with over 1,000 points, 750 rebounds, and 400 blocks. Ranks as the all-time leader in Olympia High history in rebounds and blocked shots. In leading the nationally-ranked Titans to a 29-5 record and a runner-up finish in the Florida 6A State Tournament, Green earned All-Metro, All-Conference, and All-State Honorable Mention for Class 6A in Florida. The Orlando Sentinel named him All-Central Florida while he was also a McDonald's All-American nominee. In the Florida 6A State Championship game against Coral Reef, Green tallied nine points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks shots in the Titans' 69-60 loss. As a junior, he averaged 11.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as Olympia posted a 24-3 record. Graduated with a 4.2 GPA.
Full name is William Jerald Green III. Was born on August 28, 1991, in Orlando. Is the son of William Green, Jr., and Shanelle Williams. Has one brother, Niko Green (13), and one sister, Jasmine Green (10). Chose to attend Stetson because of the great academic programs. Majoring in sport management.
