Dan Forcella began as Assistant Director of Athletic
Communications for Stetson
University on July 2,
2012. He is the primary contact for
men's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and lacrosse while providing
leadership and oversight for media relations and communication functions within
Stetson University's Division I intercollegiate
athletics program.
Before arriving in DeLand, Forcella was a graduate assistant
for athletic media relations at former A-Sun opponent Belmont for two
years. While earning his Master of Sport
Administration degree with a 4.0 GPA at the university, Forcella was the media
contact for Belmont's
men's soccer, cross country, and baseball teams. With the Bruins he gained extensive media
relations experience due to conference championships and NCAA Tournament
appearances by both the men's basketball and baseball teams.
Prior to his time at Belmont, Forcella spent two years as
Assistant Sports Information Director at Central Connecticut State University, where he was
the media contact for 11 sports, including women's basketball, men's soccer,
and volleyball.
Hailing from Falmouth, Maine, Forcella
received his Bachlor of Arts degree from Vassar College
in 2008. He worked in the sports
information department as an undergraduate for three years, and was a member of
the men's basketball team for all four, captaining the squad as a senior.
