The Stetson men's tennis team will open their fall season by traveling to Gainesville to compete in the 2012 Bedford Cup, starting this Friday. The event runs from September 14-16, and will include participants from 11 Florida schools.

The teams competing will be Florida, North Florida, UCF, Florida Atlantic, FAMU, FGCU, USF, FSU, Miami, Bethune-Cookman and Stetson.

The Hatters begin the 2012-13 campaign with a much younger roster than last season. They have just three upperclassmen on the team: seniors Didrik Berg and Erik Halaj, and junior Hans Adrian Riseng.

Chester Espie and Nathan Debut, who saw plenty of playing time as freshmen, return for their sophomore seasons. Laurynas Antropikas, Simon Julin, Cahit Kapukiran, and Egor Panyushkin are the freshmen on the team.

The draws for the Bedford Cup were released Thursday, and these are the matches Stetson is lined up to play in the first round.
