Andrew Kovachy enters his first year as Associate Athletic Trainer at Stetson University where he will work primarily as the Head Athletic Trainer for Football.
Before joining Stetson University, Kovachy was the head athletic trainer at Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama. He was responsible with the overall care of all the school’s athletic programs. Prior to Miles, Kovachy spent time working with Palm Beach State College along with the University of Alabama football team.
A native of Coral Springs, Florida, Kovachy graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with emphasis in Athletic Training. While at UGA, Kovachy worked with the football, baseball, men’s tennis, and equestrian teams.
Upon graduation, Kovachy went on to the University of North Texas where he pursued his master’s degree in Kinesiology while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the football program and assisting with women’s soccer, softball, women’s swimming and diving, women’s volleyball, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s track and field.
A nationally certified and State of Florida licensed athletic trainer, Kovachy is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA) and Athletic Trainers Association of Florida (ATAF).
