|Stetson University women soccer coach Julie Orlowski has left her position as head coach.
Having just completed her 12th season at Stetson, Orlowski resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Orlowski was named the Hatters second head women's soccer coach on July 20, 2001, and compiled an overall record of a 126-153-23. Her teams reached the Atlantic Sun Tournament each year from 2003-10 and advanced to the A-Sun title match in 2006. The 2012 team finished with a disappointing record of 3-13-1.
During her tenure, Orlowski coached 28 all-conference performers, including 11 first team, eight second team and nine All-Freshmen team members. She also helped produce the league's Defensive Player of the Year (twice), Freshman Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year (twice).
The Hatters were also successful off the field under Orlowski, earning six CoSIDA Academic All-Region selections, four NSCAA All-Academic selections as well as public recognition from the NCAA for the program’s outstanding Academic Performance Rate.
Orlowski coached countless Academic All-Conference performers and routinely placed more than 75 percent of her roster on that prestigious list.
A 1991 graduate of Florida International University (B.A., Mass Communication), Orlowski came to Stetson following one season as an assistant coach at the University of South Florida. Prior to her stint at USF, Orlowski compiled a 39-54-4 record in six seasons as a collegiate head coach, with stops at St. Thomas, North Florida and Boise State.
Orlowski holds a United States Soccer Federation "B" License. She is a state coach for the Florida Youth Soccer Association and has served as an Olympic Development Program instructor and is currently a member of the NCAA National Advisory Committee.
Stetson will launch a national search for a new coach for the women's soccer program immediately.
