A three-run fourth inning by UCF proved to be the only offense in the game as the visiting Knights defeated Stetson 3-0 in the Strikeout Cancer game Wednesday night at Patricia Wilson Field.

The loss snapped Stetson's five-game win streak and dropped the Hatters' record to 6-6.

Jessica Griffin extended her hitting streak to seven games with a fourth-inning double off the right field fence. Brittany Hawn, Chrissy Morello, and Jordan Cleghorn each added singles for the Hatters.

Meredith Owen (6-2) allowed just five hits over seven innings while striking out four and walking one.

Mackenzie Audas (5-4) struck out nine batters for UCF (10-7).

Stetson will return to action Friday afternoon as the Hatters host the Niagara Purple Eagles in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.  Live video and live stats will be available on

Notes: The Hatters wore pink uniforms and honored cancer victims and cancer survivors throughout the game with video tributes on the outfield scoreboard.
