The Stetson University men's golf team will return to the course this week when the Hatters head to Lake Worth to participate in the Spring Break Championship, hosted by Florida Atlantic University.

The event, being held at The Fountains Country Club, will feature Stetson playing the likes of Bethune-Cookman, Florida Gulf Coast and the University of Central Florida among the field of 16 teams. The teams will play a total of 54 holes over three days.

Other teams in the tournament include Connecticut, DePaul, Hartford, Jacksonville State, Lafayette, Loyola, McNeese State, Miami of Ohio, Morehead State, Murray State and Northern Illinois in addition to the host team from Florida Atlantic.

The Hatters participating in the tournament include freshmen Dustin Dingus (Palm Harbor, Fla.), Andrew Peterson (Andover, Minn.), Michael Primavera (Naples, Fla.), and Brian Kehoe (Katonah, NY) along with junior Tyler White (Palm Harbor, Fla.).

Head coach Bob Weickel is looking for a better performance from the Hatters than their last time out.

"I'd like for them to do very well," Weickel said. "They've had some good scores individually in various tournaments and, if they could do it all at the same time, then they could contend. It's a very difficult field and they have to play well because of that."

The tournament will start with split tee times at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Play will continue through Sunday. Live scoring for the event will be available on golfstat.com.
