The Stetson lacrosse team (0-12, 0-1) will play its final home games of the season this weekend. The Hatters host Atlantic Sun Conference foes Detroit (2-11, 1-0) and Kennesaw State (0-7, 0-1) on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Friday’s contest is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Athletic Training Center, as Stetson aims to earn its first win in program history. The Hatters welcome the Titans, who are sporting a 2-11 overall record, which includes a recent 16-5 victory over A-Sun member Howard.
Detroit’s only other win on the season came against Delaware State, topping the Hornets 15-1 back on Feb. 24. The Titans are led on offense by Zaynib Hamze and Erin Campbell, who have recorded 23 and 22 goals, respectively, during the 2013 season.
Sunday will mark Senior Day for the Hatters. This first-year program will honor lone senior, captain Kristina Cicchetti, prior to the first draw at 4:00 p.m. Stetson will then take on fellow first-year squad Kennesaw State, which is also looking for its first ever victory.
The Owls have competed in just seven games in their first season, playing all but two away from home thus far. KSU’s best offensive output came in a 21-12 home loss to Coastal Carolina. The team has not yet held an opponent under 20 goals in 2013.
Both Friday’s and Sunday’s contests will feature a live video stream on HatterVision and ASun.TV, as well as Live Stats at GoHatters.com. Fans can also stay up to date with Stetson Lacrosse by following the team on Twitter (@StetsonLacrosse), Facebook, and signing up for Hat-Alerts.
