Stetson Men Keep Rolling, Beat UNF

Stetson Breaks Into National Rankings, Sweeps DePaul

DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson men's tennis team (14-3) made its season debut in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings at #70, then celebrated by shutting out DePaul (6-12) 7-0 on Tuesday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.  Three Hatters were double winners.

Senior Mark Mestan (Cologne, Germany), sophomore Njal Stene (Oslo, Norway) and freshman Didrik Berg (Oslo, Norway) all won in singles and doubles.  Mestan and Stene combined for an 8-6 win over Alasdair Graetz and Douglas Perrin at #3 doubles.  Junior Alex Hackett (Surrey, England) registered Stetson's most dominating singles victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mathias Hambach at the #5 slot.

Stetson returns to Atlantic Sun Conference play this Thursday, hosting Kennesaw State at 4 p.m.  The match is the second half of a Hatter-Owl doubleheader at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center as the Stetson-KSU women's match is slated for 12 p.m.  Live Stats are available at www.GoHatters.com.
