Hatters Take Game 1 in Extras, 3-2

Stetson Completes Suspended Game from Saturday

Jacksonville, Fla. -- In the completion of Saturday night's suspended contest, Stetson defeated Jacksonville 3-2 in nine innings Sunday morning at the Pruitt Softball Complex.

The game resumed in the top of the sixth with the score tied 1-1.  The deadlocked remained into extra innings until the Hatters took advantage of two Dolphin errors to score twice in the top of the ninth.  JU rallied for one run in the bottom of the inning but left the tying and winning runs stranded on base.

Lauren Hobbs (13-10) completed the game she started Saturday, allowing two runs and nine hits while striking out seven. She did not walk a batter in 9.0 innings of work.  Kami Eppley hit her second home run of the year.

The Hatters (25-25) pulled into a tie with Jacksonville (23-23) in the ASUN standings as each squad is now 9-10 in ASUN play. The Hatters improved to 15-10 in 1-run games and to 3-4 in extra innings.

The teams have two more games to play on Sunday.
