Hatters Fall to FSU; Coastal Carolina Washed Out

Tallahassee, Fla. -- No. 3 Florida State defeated No. 17 Stetson 5-0 Saturday morning at the FSU Beach Volleyball Courts.

Stetson's second dual of the day against Coastal Carolina was canceled due to severe weather. The Hatters played just twice at the FSU Unconquered Invitational, falling 3-2 to No. 13 FAU on Friday and 5-0 to No. 3 FSU on Saturday. The Hatters now stand with a record of 16-11 on the season.

Against FSU, Carly Perales and Ana Costa battled it out against Alaina Chacon and Molly McBain at Pair 1. In the first frame, the two teams combined to stave off 10 set points before FSU won 31-29. Set two also went extra points, but this time Stetson came away with a 22-20 victory. The Seminoles came back with a 15-11 win in third set to take the match.

FSU won in straight sets on the other four courts.

The Hatters will return home to face FAU and FIU next Saturday at the Cooper Beach Courts. It will also be Senior Day for five Hatter seniors.
