Lauren Hobbs has been named ASUN Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Hobbs went 3-0 for the week with a pair of complete-game road victories at South Carolina and at #16 Georgia. She also tossed a five-hit shutout against Samford to improve to 7-1 on the season.
On Tuesday at Carolina Softball Stadium, Hobbs helped the Hatters snap South Carolina's 14-game win streak with a 4-3 victory. She allowed just three runs to the nation's seventh-ranked scoring offense (7.8 rpg) while walking one and striking out out three.
Hobbs made it 2-for-2 in opposing SEC ballparks with a victory over #16 Georgia on Friday at Turner Softball Stadium. Facing a Georgia offense averaging 7.3 rpg, Hobbs allowed just one run on four hits in Stetson's 2-1 win. She walked one and struck out six.
On Saturday, Hobbs registered her first complete game shutout of the season - a five-hitter - in Stetson's 1-0 win in eight innings. Hobbs struck out a season-high nine batters and walked just one.
For the week, Hobbs was 3-0 with a 1.18 ERA in four appearances. She fanned 21 batters in 23.2 innings and opponents hit just .188 against her.
It is Hobbs' first ASUN Pitcher of the Week award this season and the third of her career.
The Hatters are off to a 14-8 start to the season and will host Holy Cross at noon on Wednesday in a game broadcast live on ESPN+. It will be Stetson's lone home game in a 10-game stretch.
