A 6-1 forward from Sanford, Fla., Deidre Hillery was a dual threat for the Stetson women’s basketball team for four seasons (1984-88). A prolific scorer, rebounder and shot blocker, Hillery ended her career second at Stetson in both career points (1,398) and rebounds (742), and first in blocked shots (137). During her junior season, she set school records by scoring 39 points on 16 field goals against Georgia State. The points record stood for nearly 30 years. In the 1986-87 season, Hillery established the school record with 55 blocked shots. As a junior, Hillery was named first-team All-ASUN. Hillery was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001.
