Considered the top goalkeeper in Stetson women’s soccer history, April Eilering was inducted onto the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Stetson’s all-time leader with 29 shutouts, Eilering roamed the goal during a four-year period (2003-06) that perhaps not so coincidentally was also the Hatters’ most successful, as Stetson registered 37 victories during her career. Her days in the green and white couldn’t have started out any better as the Troy, Ill., native was named ASUN Conference Freshman of the Year after setting school records for goals-against average (0.78) and shutouts (9) in helping Stetson to 11 overall victories. And she closed her career in style as well, earning first-team All-ASUN and ASUN Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2006 when she tied her won school record for shutouts and registered a 0.94 goals-against average as the Hatters tied a school record with 12 wins, and finished second in the ASUN with a 7-1-1 record.
