Before he became one of the most sought-after golf instructors in the country, Tom Creavy was carving out a career on the links as a Stetson Hatter. The 1991 ASUN Conference Player of the Year, Tom Creavy is a native of Westchester, N.Y. While Creavy’s collegiate career is impressive, the 1992 Stetson graduate saved his best accomplishments for after he left DeLand. As an amateur in 1993, Creavy defeated Tiger Woods in the semifinals at the Monroe Invitational in the month before Woods captured the first of his three straight U.S. Amateur championships. After turning to instructing, Creavy worked at the prestigious Leadbetter Golf Academy, where he instructed PGA Tour legends Nick Faldo, Nick Price, Ernie Els and Greg Norman. But Creavy’s crowning professional achievement came during his 20-year run as coach for LPGA Hall of Famer Se Ri Pak. Under Creavy’s guidance as both coach and occasional caddie, Pak won 16 times in seven years and finished her career with 25 LPGA wins and five major championships. Creavy was inducted into the Stetson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
